Stephen is an executive managing director in charge of business development and client relations.

Stephen joined Sands Capital in 2010 as the head of business development and director on the client relations team. In 2014, he was appointed to the executive management team, which provides strategic leadership across all functions of the firm. Since joining Sands Capital, he has led the firm’s business development strategy to expand its global client base via direct relationships and strategic partnerships. This has included opening and overseeing client offices in Singapore in 2021 and London in 2022. Currently, Stephen provides leadership and management of the broader client relations group, which totals 44 people.

Before joining the firm, Stephen was a senior client director at Martin Currie in New York, a European sales director at Gartmore Investment Management (now Hellman & Friedman) in London, and a client director at The WM Company in Edinburgh.

Stephen earned his BA in economics and history from Durham University in the U.K.
